Cisco Offers Easy Home Networking With "Connect Cloud"

Cisco has developed a new software platform for its Linksys Wi-Fi Routers. Labelled Cisco Connect Cloud, the new platform will make it easier to add devices to your home network and make them more accessible, said Cisco. To support the Connect Cloud, Cisco has also release Cisco Connect Cloud Mobile App, which features SimpleTap, a new interface for the Linksys Wi-Fi Router.  Cisco also released six new developer apps to offer more control and convenience.

Onkyo has worked Silicon Image to create the world’s first line of Audio/Video Receivers with InstaPrevue and MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) technology.  With InstaPrevue you get live picture-in-picture preview of HDMI or MHL-enabled device connected to your Audio Visual Receiver.  MHL enables a mobile device (smartphone or tablets) to transmit uncompressed video at 1080p.

Approximately two months after the release of the TX-NR1009, the world's first nine-channel home theater Receiver with DTS Neo:X Technology; Onkyo has announced another two high-end network 9.2-channel THX Ultra2 Plus-certified A/V receivers, the TX-NR5009 and the TX-NR3009. The new 7.2 Channel TX-NR609 and 5.1 Channel TX-NR509 AV Receivers features the latest in networking capability available to home entertainment systems, although being class as entry-level.  The AV Receivers boost support for DLNA, Wireless, Windows 7, Internet Radio and remote App control from Onkyo App for iPhone and iPod. The other new model is the TX-SR309, it is the only one of the three that does not support Networking.

Onkyo's newest Blu-ray player, the BD-SP808 will offer Blockbuster On Demand. This month, the model will be rolled out in electronics stores nationwide, adding to a list of more than 85 consumer electronic devices that have integrated the service to boost consumer access to the latest releases.Onkyo's BD-SP808 offers other features in addition to Blockbuster On Demand, including a High Quality Video Scaler and full-featured Blu-ray Disc Play Back.

Onkyo Launches DLNA 1.5 and Windows 7 Home Theater Receivers (HT-RC260 and HT-RC270)

Onkyo has release two new HT-RC home theatre receivers (HT-RC260 and HT-RC270). Both models feature the latest in surround sound with a High Definition high performance 7.2-channel via Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio codecs. For inter components connectivity they both have a 3D-Ready HDMI-1.4a port, and are DLNA 1.5 and Windows7 compatible.  Both models have Audyssey DSX and Dolby Pro Logic IIz and Onkyo's proprietary WRAT (Wide Range Amplifier Technology) amplifiers.  Onkyo HT-RC260 and HT-RC270 are available at retailers for $499 and $849 respectively.

Onkyo has released details of their soon to be released A/V Receivers (TX-NR1008, TX-NR808 and TX-NR708).  The new models feature the latest in connectivity, sound quality and compatibility. All models offer the same basic features such as compatibility with Windows 7, DLNA 1.5 certified, integrated support of Apple iPhone and iPod, network audio streaming and multi-room support.
