Acer Debutes eReader LumiRead and Clear.fi Media Sharing

Acer has joined the eBook readers market with LumiRead.  The new gadget is part of the clear.fi solution a connected home initiative to allow for simpler sharing and reading of digital content in and outside the home.  The LumiRead eBook reader is pack full of features, such as changeable storage card and 3G wireless connections.  It is DLNA compliant, therefore capable to access Acer clear.fi and share contents like eBooks and audio-books.

Best Buy To Sell Insignia Televisions With TiVo Built In

Best Buy and TiVo announced that Best Buy exclusive television brand Insignia will be shipping with TiVo software and advanced television services already built in.  By embedding the TiVo software into the televisions will give Insignia customers an intuitive user experience for accessing online content by utilizing TiVo’s non-DVR software and advance television software, said both companies.

HomeGrid Forum Forms Clean Tech Working Group

HomeGrid Forum, today announced the formation of a Clean Tech Working Group to support technology innovations in next-generation home networking products. So far seven organisations have joined (University of British Columbia, Offsetters Clean Technologies, British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), Future Shop (Best Buy Canada), BC Hydro,  Corinex Communications Corporation and BC Hydro). The working group will be chaired by Corinex.

Bose Released New Lifestyle Home Theater Range

Bose has released three new Bose life-style home theater systems (Lifestyle T20, Lifestyle V35 and V25). They are the company’s first system to include an iPod docking station, which connects to a dedicated proprietary input, and to decode Dolby TrueHD and multichannel PCM soundtracks on Blu-ray discs.

Models Lifestyle V35 and V25 are the iPod-docking systems and retails for $3,299 and $2,499, respectively.  The Lifestyle T20 system is $1,999 all models are available at bose.com and will be available to retailer in a few weeks.

The new BeoVision 8 does just that, it combines a technologically advanced home cinema viewing experience with design and functionality. Toshiba Reveals Windows and Google Android Tablet: Slate

The General Manger of digital products at Toshiba - Jeff Barney, said the company is planning to launch a tablet PC called “Slate”. Currently Toshiba is looking at a veriety of form factors, including a 10-inch dual-screen with Microsoft Windows. In addition to Microsoft Windows 7 there will be a Google mobile Android operating system.
