Swisscom to Launch "Smart Living" Home Monitoring and Automation Services

icontrolLike Verizon and Rogers Cable, Swisscom is planning to offer a home automation and monitoring service to its Swiss customers.  They have teamed up with iControl Networks, the provider of the OpenHome platform to develop the “Smart Living” solution for the Swiss and European markets. Both companies said through the Smart Living platform customers will be to stay connected with their home when away and be able to control home electrical appliances.

Enhanced Version of Control4 OS2 Available

control4Control4 has release an upgraded version of its home automation operating system software, OS2.  The company said OS2.1 comes with a host of new features that allow for easier and faster installs. One of the core enhancements is an advanced diagnostic tool “Detective Suite”, which is an installer’s tool set.  Home users can expect better performance, stability and the option to have customised user interface for each room in the house.

Verizon to Launch Home Monitoring and Control Service

Visitors to this week’s Connected Home Global Summit in London were given an overview of the soon to be launch ‘Verizon Home Monitoring and Control Service’, for its U.S. customers.  The solution was developed in conjuction with 4Home and was first debuted at CES 2011. The idea behind the services is to get more of the devices in our homes connected and using power of the cloud we will have access to these devices from anywhere and at any time.

An upgrade from the PMC2 the new models especially the PMC3-XP controls even more devices in the home.
